Road-Guard’s GreenDrive Smart Eco-Driving Solution was selected as the first runner-up for the European Satellite Navigation Competition 2008, among 293 international contestants.
GreenDrive is the winner for Bavaria - Partner Region in Germany.
Tel Aviv, Israel – October 21, 2008. Road-Guard, a pioneer of horizon predictive driver attention solutions, announced today that its GreenDrive™ smart eco-driving solution was selected as the first Runner-Up for the European Satellite Navigation Competition 2008 and a won First Place within the Bavarian region. The goal of this competition is to realize the most innovative applications in the field of satellite-aided navigation in cooperation with business incubation centers in its 13 global partner regions and with competition sponsors. GreenDrive places in Top Roster amongst 293 most compelling pre-commercial applications in the industry.
As regional winner for Bavaria, Road-Guard received prizes of six months incubation phase in the Application Center for Satellite Navigation in Oberpfaffenhofen, including free office space, infrastructure, telecommunication as well as a marketing budget.
Road-Guard provides eco-driving and driver safety solutions through mobile phones, personal navigation devices, in-vehicle infotainment consoles or embedded in cruise-control systems. The company’s GreenDrive patented technology helps drivers develop smart, smooth, and safe driving techniques that lead to an average fuel savings of 15-25% and contribute to a cleaner environment.

About the European Satellite Navigation Competition (ESNC)
The European Satellite Navigation Competition is an international innovation competition that awards the best ideas for innovative applications in the field of satellite navigation. Organised annually since 2004 by Anwendungszentrum GmbH Oberpfaffenhofen and SYSTEMS, the ESNC is oriented toward companies, entrepreneurs, research institutes, universities, and private individuals. Since its inception, the competition has grown from including three partner regions to 13 high-tech regions of Europe: Bavaria, Hesse, Baden-Württemberg, Nice / Sophia Antipolis, Prague, South Holland, Madrid, Lombardy, Great Britain, and this year’s new regions, Queensland / Australia, Taipei / Taiwan, Lower Saxony, and North Rhine-Westphalia.
The goal of the ESNC is to continue to strengthen the international collaboration of these regions, particularly with regard to the development of applications and services made possible by the European satellite navigation system Galileo.
